Emotions, Silence and Time
Emotions, Silence and Time
Yerevan Modern Art Museum invites everyone to the opening of Ruben Babayan’s and Ruzann Khalatyan’s “Emotions, Silence and Time” exhibition which will take place on April 22 at 6:00 P. M.
Ruben Babayan and Ruzanna Khalatyan – two creative individuals, whose shared life and artistic journey extends over more than four decades – present themselves as a unified artistic realm, where different mediums, painting and tapestry, intertwine within a single inner current. Their art is not divided by the boundaries of “his” and “hers”, but is shaped by lived time, shared experience, perception, and thoughts that have matured in silence.
In this exhibition two distinct, yet intrinsically connected approaches meet. In Ruben Babayan’s paintings light and shadow become not only visual elements, but a mode of thinking, revealing the inner world of the human being, its tensions and its dialogue with time. Through a different medium and technical language, this inner movement extends into Ruzanna Khalatyan’s tapestries, where color gains tactile presence and texture becomes layers of time.
At the center of their artistic exploration stands the human being, marked by duality, emotion, anticipation and memory. Sometimes this presence appears as a defined figure, sometimes , it dissolves in color, structure or rhythm. Light and color, form and material become different expressions of the same narrative.
The exhibition Emotions, Silence and Time is not simply a presentation of two artistic practices, but also a testament to a shared life, in which art has become a form of communication, a space for thinking and a carrier of memory .
