1928 – Born in Yerevan.
1943-1948 – Studied at the P. Terlemzyan Art School in Yerevan.
1948-1954 – Studied in the Department of Painting at the Yerevan State Institute of Fine Arts and Theater.
Since 1954 – Participated in republican, Transcaucasian, all-Union, and international exhibitions (Portugal, Denmark, Argentina, France, Austria, Italy).
1954-1955 – Participated in the restoration of murals in the Echmiadzin Cathedral with a group of artists led by L. A. Durnov.
1958-1966 – Worked in the studio of M. Sarian.
Under M. Sarian’s direction and inspired by his works, created the “Armenia” panel in the G. Sundukyan Theater’s foyer and the “Armenia” triptych in the Small Hall of the Armenian Philharmonic.
Later created several monumental-decorative works, including the dome design for the Komitas Museum (Echmiadzin Seminary) in collaboration with artists H. Hakobyan and A. Melkonyan, the murals “By the Spring” and “Hunting” in the Culture Palace of Khachk village in Hrazdan, the “Armenia” triptych in the foyer of the House of Writers, the “Past and Present of Bjni” mural in the Culture Palace of Bjni, the design of the town of Yeghegnadzor for the 700th anniversary of Gladzor University, and the “Armenian Song” mural in the Armenian Choral Society’s foyer, among others.
Since 1967 – Designed Armenian pavilions at international exhibitions (Damascus, 1967; Rio de Janeiro, 1968; Lagos, 1974; Buenos Aires, 1976; Los Angeles, 1977; Zagreb, 1979; Expo-81, Montreal; Delhi, 1982, received the gold medal for best design; Barcelona, 1984, “Goddess of Beauty” award; Paris, 1986, Grand Prix).
Since 1962 – His work has been recognized with various awards and honors, including (All-Union Youth Exhibition award, Moscow, 1962; Best Illustration for Children’s Magazine, 1969; “Pioneer”, Yerevan; Supreme Soviet diploma, 1978; Jubilee Medal for the 50th Anniversary of the USSR Chamber of Commerce and Industry, 1982; First prize at the “Yerevan and Yerevanians” exhibition, 1985).
1977 – Honored Artist of the Armenian SSR.
1981 – Designed the opera “David Bek” at the Alexander Spendiaryan Opera and Ballet Theater.
1986 – Knight of the “Friendship of Peoples” Order.

His works are held in the Contemporary Art Museum (Yerevan), as well as museums and galleries in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Kiev, and other cities, and in various private collections abroad.
