Hakob Ananikyan (1919-1977)

1919 – Born in Leninakan (Gyumri).

1939 – Graduated from the P. Terlemezyan Art School (Yerevan).

1940 – Enrolled in the Institute of Decorative and Applied Arts (Moscow).

1941-1945 – Participated in the Great Patriotic War.

1947-1966 – Served as the Director of the Leninakan City Museum.

1952 – Completed the Fine Arts and Theater Institute (Yerevan) through external studies.

From 1940 – Participated in national, and later all-Union and international exhibitions (Armenia, Russia, Czechoslovakia, Poland, Argentina, Mongolia). Taught at the S. Merkurov Art School (Leninakan).

1965 – Awarded the title of Honored Educator of Armenia.

1977 – Died in Yerevan.

1978 – A posthumous exhibition was organized (Artists’ Union of Armenia, Yerevan).

Works are held in the Museum of Contemporary Art (Yerevan), the National Gallery of Armenia (Yerevan), the Ministry of Culture of Armenia’s collections (Yerevan), and various cultural centers across Armenia.
