Deep Red – Leo Leo Vardanyan

Deep red allows us to perceive the infinite without losing our own experience. It is a deep look inside ourselves, where the personal and the infinite coincide without destroying each other. And perhaps it is in this coincidence that true self-knowledge lies.
I first fell in love with the depth of red when my mother was making cherry compote. I was never in a hurry to drink it, I admired its depth. Since childhood, I have felt that color is not just a visual phenomenon, but more: a body, a memory, a consciousness. This series is like a process where color thickens in space and breaks the surface. What is important here is not the aggressive power of red, but its enchanting depth. I have explored red as an element of time: it can be dense, transparent, hot, even burning. This is a space where you do not look, but penetrate, like a memory, a smell, warm air, someone’s silent presence or absence.
Exhibition is open 7-31 of October.
The opening is on October 7 at 6:30 pm

solo exhibition, which will take place on May 15th at 7 P.M.
Art Intelligence
“Art is an act. The rest is a consequence “The series “Observers”, presented in 2020, with figurative dialogues, has today turned into abstract rebuses.
There is no longer a ready-made image proposal. There are only hints – lines, colors, shapes that seek the answer within you.
Here, the question “What do I see” actually means “What do I feel.” Art is inside you. Because you are what you see.

Welcome to a world where art begins from within you.

Djawed Wasseh (Germany) – Solo Exhibition

Yerevan Modern Art Museum invites to the opening of Djawed Wasseh’s solo exhibition, which will take place on 04.04.2025, at 4:00 pm.

Djawed Wasseh was born in Afghanistan. His childhood was memorable and pleasant. But because of the war he moved to Europe more than 30 years ago.

“My paintings are like radio stations, if you immerse into them and not just pass by, you will hear interesting stories… Memories from childhood- beautiful snowy winter in Kabul, the games with kites with my brother Shekeb. They are good memories, sweet memories…. And memories with a bitter taste, far from my parents, already in Germany.”

Appearing in Germany, he visited galleries and museums, attended concerts. The world of art attracted him, although it was new and completely unfamiliar to him.

At first, he had to do various jobs to survive and gradually began to paint. At first, he worked with a charcoal pencil, then with a brush and acrylic paints. Over time, he gained experience and became the author of his own style, the author of his own technique, using an ordinary shower and preferring a vertical format.
Djawed did not study art, but received patronage from Professor Udo Schell, former rector of the Münster Academy. He began to participate in exhibitions in Germany and abroad, in particular at the Franz-Hitze-Haus Academy in Münster, etc. Djawed’s last exhibition was held in New York.

“My paintings often don’t have titles, because they are my philosophy, my feelings expressed in color. Feelings about the past and present, my perception of myself in reality.”

The exhibition will be open until 20.04.2025
Ticket price – 500 AMD
